This qualitative research study traces sites of cultural production that signify refugee presence in Northern Colorado and reframes refugee research participants as an emergent, interconnected, and elective community fostered through the arts.

Increasing Social Inclusion through Connecting Arts and Crafts in Rotterdam

Freehouse initiated various projects in which artists and designers realized creative production in cooperation with deprived neighborhood residents. We investigate the contribution of these artists and designers to the social inclusion of the residents.

Migration and the Arts: the Chinese and Hong Kongese Migrant Artists in Canada
Presenter: Sebastien Pelletier
Migrations require a number of important adaptations to a new society. Access to the professional world may prove to be challenging in absence of contextual and tacit knowledge, and with limited social capital. This paper discusses the adaptation strategies of Chinese and Hong Kongese migrant workers in Canada and focuses on migrants who enter the art world.
