Art Organizations on the Verge of a New Era - A Case Study of Changes in Funding and Leadership in Three State-Subsidized Orchestras and Art Museums in Helsinki

The research uses critical social theory (sociology) and discourse analysis to study changes in cultural policy, leadership and funding of the Nordic welfare state for orchestras and art museums in Finland in 2016-2019. The reform is led by the Coalition government.

This study discusses the role the arts play in aging society and the actions need be taken to capture the attention of policymakers in the arts and aging field, using the concept of creative aging.
